Terms of service
Last updated: 7 November 2026
These terms apply to projects you order directly with The Data Driven. Orders placed on Fiverr follow Fiverr’s own terms instead. By accepting a quote you agree to these terms.
Scope and quotes
- Every project gets a written quote with the price, scope, data fields, format and delivery date before work starts.
- The quote is valid for 14 days. Changes to the scope after you accept are quoted separately and need your approval.
- I may need information from you, such as the exact pages, fields or access. Delivery dates move if that information arrives late.
Free sample
Before the full run I send a free sample of about 20 to 50 rows so we can agree on columns and format. The sample is for checking quality. It is not a license to use the data commercially before payment.
Payment
- Prices are in US dollars. Payment is by Wise, Payoneer, PayPal or bank transfer. You pay any fees charged by your own bank or payment provider.
- Small projects are paid after you approve the sample and before the final file is released. Larger projects may be split into a deposit and a final payment, as written in the quote.
- Monthly monitoring is billed at the start of each month and can be cancelled before the next month starts. Cancelling stops future billing but does not refund a month already started.
- If an invoice is not paid on time, I may pause the work or the monitoring until it is.
Delivery and revisions
If the delivered file does not match the agreed scope, I fix it free of charge. Small fixes caused by changes on the source website are free for 7 days after delivery. After that, or for changes outside the original scope, I quote the extra work first. Please check the delivered file within 7 days and tell me about any problem in that time.
Refunds
If I cannot deliver what we agreed in the quote, for example because the website cannot be collected legally or technically, I refund the part of the payment for work I did not deliver. I do not refund work that was delivered as agreed.
Ownership
Once the project is paid in full, you own the delivered data files. I keep the rights to my own tools, scripts and methods, and I may reuse general techniques on other projects. If I give you a script as part of the job, the quote says so and you may use it for your own business.
Confidentiality
I keep your project details, data, files and access credentials private and use them only for your job. I do not name you as a client or show your data in public without your written permission. This does not apply to information that is already public or that I must disclose by law.
What data I collect
- I only collect publicly available information, or data from accounts that you own and give me access to.
- I do not get around paywalls, logins you do not own, CAPTCHAs meant to protect private content, or other security measures.
- I collect at a reasonable speed so that I do not harm the source website.
- I may turn down or stop any project that I believe is harmful, unlawful, deceptive or breaks someone’s privacy, including collecting private personal data for spam, harassment or fraud.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for how you use the data you receive, including following privacy, marketing, anti-spam and copyright laws in your country, and the terms of the websites the data comes from. You confirm that you have the right to ask for the data and to use it for your stated purpose.
No guarantee of results
Websites change and can contain errors, so data is provided as found on the source at the time of collection. I do not promise that the data is complete, error-free or fit for a particular purpose, or that a website will allow collection in the future.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for indirect or lost profits, lost business or lost data. My total liability for any project is limited to the amount you paid for it.
Ending a project
Either of us can end a project in writing. You pay for work done up to that point. I may stop work at once if these terms are broken or if the project turns out to be unlawful.
Privacy
How I handle your personal information is described in the privacy policy.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. We will first try to settle any disagreement by talking about it. If that fails, the courts of Sri Lanka decide it.
Changes
I may update these terms. A project is covered by the terms that applied on the day you accepted the quote.
